Step 1.Check Your Eligibility

If you live in or own property on a street included in the Residential Parking Permit Zone, you can apply for a permit.

Neighbors of Belknap Lookout Zone includes:

  • Hastings St NE (Fairview Ave NE to Lafayette Ave NE)
  • Trowbridge St NE (Fairview Ave NE to Lafayette Ave NE)
  • Fairview Ave NE (Hastings St NE to Fairbanks St NE)
  • Livingston Ave NE (Hastings St NE to Fairbanks St NE)
  • Coit Ave NE (Hastings St NE to Fairbanks St NE)
  • Clancy Ave NE (Hastings St NE to Newberry St NE)
  • Fairbanks St NE (Fairview Ave NE to Lafayette Ave NE)

Other Zones include:

  • Alabama Avenue (just north of Bridge St NW to 2nd St NW)
  • Lake Drive (Diamond Place and extending 120’ to the West)

Step 2.Check Vehicle Qualifications

Step 3.Check Permit Cost

Permit costs vary depending on when you buy them. We have four staggered payment schedules:

  • December 1 - Feb 28: $40 - 12 month permit or $25 - 6 month permit
  • March 1 - April 15: $35 - 12 month permit or $20 - 6 month permit
  • April 15 - May 31: $30 - 12 month permit or $15 - 6 month permit
  • June 1 - Aug 31: $40 - 12 month permit or $ 25 - 6 month permit
  • September 1 - October 15: $35 - 12 month permit or $20 - 6 month permit
  • October 16 - November 30: $30 - 12 month permit or $15 - 6 month permit

Step 4.Prepare Application Attachments

Please prepare the following attachments for your application:

  1. Proof of Car Registration
  2. Proof of Driver's License or State-Issued ID Card
  3. Proof of Residency (if not on your driver's license)
  4. Proof of Fee Waiver Eligibility* (if applicable)
  5. Proof of Caregiver Eligibility* (if applicable)

*Optional, based on your eligibility.

Step 5.Provide Your License Plate Number

We use your license plate number to match your permit to your vehicle. Let us know if your license plate number changes so you don't receive a ticket.

Step 6.Complete an Online Application

Apply Online in English

Please be prepared to provide payment information. You'll pay $15/$20/$25 for a 6-month permit or $30/$35/$40 for a 12-month permit, depending on your application date.

We'll verify your application information and confirm you are eligible. Then, we'll contact you within 1 business day to pay for the first prorated payment. You'll have a few payment options:

  • By Mail - Send a check, cashier's check, money order, or credit card.
  • By Phone - You can pay over the phone using a credit card.
  • In Person - You can bring in cash or any form a payment listed above.

Visit us at the address listed in the Contact Us section of this page to pick up your permit. Or, we can mail it to you. Once you have your permit, you can start to enjoy parking in the designated permit zone!

You are responsible for renewing your permit. Please reach out to renew at the correct time.
