Grand Rapids Park Rules
Park Hours: Sunrise to sunset unless otherwise posted or permit issued.
Permits Required: To reserve shelters, picnic areas, lodges, athletic fields, and for public gatherings.
Prohibited Activities:
- Dogs not on leashes
- Fighting or annoying others
- Gambling
- Golfing
- Helium balloon releases
- Hunting and trapping
- Indecent exposure
- Littering
- Loud or boisterous conduct
- Not removing pets fecal discharge
- Unauthorized possession or discharge of dangerous weapons
- Skateboards, bicycles, in-line skates, on unpaved surfaces, or where signs prohibit
- Failure, neglect, or refusal to comply with rules or regulations or disobeying a park official
- Open fire not in grills
- Pollution of aquatic areas
- Power boats or swimming in ponds and lagoons
- Profane, obscene or injurious language
- Public intoxication
- Sale or consumption of illegal drugs
- Skateboarding in downtown parks and plazas
- Snowmobiling
- Stealing
- Vandalism or destruction of public property
Prohibited Activities Without a Permit:
- Alcohol possession or consumption
- Overnight park use or camping
- Use of metal detector
- Hot air balloon launching on unauthorized sites
- Model boats, jet skis, wave runners, and similar personal watercraft
- Sound amplification that disturbs the quiet enjoyment of the park by others
- Ride animals or drive vehicles off designated roadways or in excess of 10 m.p.h.
- Admission charge for profit making activity
- Parking lot use other than parking cars
- Raffles
