Code Compliance Invoices

Before we get started

A couple of notes on GR PayIt:

• Security. Rest assured that your payment information is encrypted when it's submitted and securely stored by a third party. These practices are PCI DSS compliant
• Goodbye processing fees. There are no processing fees when making payments for most City services. A processing fee is assessed when paying property tax bills

Gather your information

Make sure to have your invoice number, customer number, license ID, or email address. You’ll will need one of these items to search for your invoice in GR PayIt. 

Most of this information is printed on the invoice; however, a physical copy of the bill may not be necessary.

Decide your payment option

You can pay online with credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express) or eCheck. There are also options to mail your payment or pay in person at City Hall.

Make your payment

Login to GR PayIt and use your existing account. If you are new to GR PayIt, you can create an account or pay as a guest. You'll be asked to look up your invoice and begin the process of paying it.

Payment timeline

When you make a payment through GR PayIt, the payment goes through the following business day by noon. If you make a payment on a holiday, it'll be posted the following business day.

Find your invoice on BS&A Online

BS&A Online is a service that allows you to search for outstanding invoices. We recommend our Search and Use BS&A guide as there's lots of helpful information.

Gather your information

You'll need to key in your invoice number. The system will ask for a 10 digit number. If your invoice number is only 8 digits, enter only those 8 digits.

Prepare your payment

You can pay by phone with credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover). There are no added fees when paying by phone with a credit/debit card.

Give us a call

We take payments over the phone. Call 616-456-3053 and choose option #2 to make your payment to speak to one of our Code Compliance Staff members.

Prepare your payment

We accept check or money order for mailed payments. Include the bottom portion of your bill with your payment.

Make your payment

Make your check out to Grand Rapids City Treasurer. Mail your payment to 300 Monroe Ave NW Room 220 Grand Rapids, MI 49503. Keep in mind that you should never send cash in the mail.

We'll process your payment

Keep in mind that it takes 5-7 business days for the US Postal Service to deliver mail to us. Make sure to mail your payment at least 5-7 business days before your payment is due. We'll process your payment as soon as possible.

Bring your payment

We accept cash, check and credit or debit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) for in person payments.

We're near the intersection of Coldbrook and Monroe.
