If you're registering to vote in Michigan for the first time, you need to register in person. If you live in the Grand Rapids city limits, you can register to vote at our office. Our address is in the Contact Us section of this page.
If it's easier for you, or if you live outside of Grand Rapids, visit a Michigan Secretary of State branch office to register.
If you've voted in Michigan before, you can register to vote by mail. Move to the next step.

If you live outside of Grand Rapids, return your application to the clerk of your jurisdiction.
There's not yet a way to register to vote online. You'll need to register either in person or using a paper form by mail.

Have you voted in Michigan before, but moved to a new jurisdiction? You can register to vote by mail. If you choose, you can re-register in person. It's up to you.
